Fun Things to Do At the Lake

Phoebe had fun dangling her feet in the water with Mamaw, swimming in the lake with Papaw, and checking out the cool fish Daddy caught- even though she said, "Fish is yucky!" :)

Phoebe's First Boat Ride

We spent Saturday at Big Long Lake with the Adams family and Jim & Faunda & Co., and the kids had a blast! We went on the kids' first boat ride, which I was SO excited about, but it turned out to be a lot of fun! Phoebe even got to help Papaw drive the boat...and honk the horn, of course!

Monument Circle: Excellent Adventure Spot!

This is definitely an adventure we'll have to take again! We climbed steps, looked at statues, Phoebe shook a police officer's hand, we watched the water in the fountains, went through the Civil War Museum located inside the monument, and bought a flag and post cards! For a low-budget outing, this was an awesome idea! Next time, I think we will bring lunch and have a picnic on the steps! :)

More Fun at the Circle

Phoebe thought it was so awesome to climb all the steps on the monument- she kept wanting to climb and then sit on a step, ledge, or bench to look out at the city...then she'd be off to climb some more! She was amazed at the fountains on the circle- she just stared and stared at the rushing water, talking, laughing, exclaiming, and then laughing hysterically when the wind shifted and blew the spray in her face!

Adventure On the Circle

We went downtown for an adventure today! Phoebe is obssessed with statues: every time we go downtown to the zoo or the museum, she points out all the statues on the buildings, fountains, etc. and shrieks, "Statue, Momma! Statue!" I hear this looong after we have left the statue area as well...so today we went on a statue-finding-adventure at Monument Circle downtown, and Phoebe was overwhelmed! She was so excited about being able to see the lamp post statues of the bears and buffalos with the water coming out of their mouths, but the human-statues were only cool from far away...oncce we got up close to those, she got scared!

Great Party!

Phoebe's highlights at MaryJane's party: giving MaryJane the present she made for her (magnets), watching MaryJane try to eat the magnets, running away from the crawdad, going for a walk with Mamaw, and pushing the stroller around! What a great party!

MaryJane's First Birthday Luau

MaryJane's first birthday party was a luau at the park, and Phoebe was right in her element with the grass skirts, leis, flowers, music, etc.!
