Childrens Museum Part Two

Here are some more photos of the kiddies at the museum- this was in the Dinosphere. Phoebe was a little leery of this area because it's dark, and kind of scary, what with the giant dinosaur skeletons all over the place. She was quite content to stay in the stroller at that point. But when she saw the other little kids playing with the dinosaurs and eggs and things, she wanted to get in on the action too! She had lots of fun throwing around the soft "eggs" and playing in the "nest." Joey obviously also had a blast. :)

Children's Museum Part One

Here are some pictures from Phoebe's first trip to the Children's Museum of Indianapolis. I took the kids there on Sunday- it was El Dia de Los Ninos, so they had free admission, special activities, arts & crafts, etc. We went through the comic book exhibit first, and took a bunch of pictures for Daddy- we looked at giant comic books, saw the Batmobile, dressed Phoebe up as Superwoman- which was hilarious, because the costume was way to big, but she was all excited about it and took off running faster than a speeding bullet, and I had to use the mom-rubber arm to reel her back in. She also had a great time playing in the Playscape, which is a big, enclosed area for kids ages 5 and under- it was things to climb on, costumes, water and sand tables, blocks, and a special area for kiddies 2 and under, which is where Phoebe is in these pictures. It was so neat to watch her explore and interact with other kids- Mommy was very proud of how independent and brave she was...and also secretly a little pleased when she would get a little nervous and turn to Mommy to be picked up...still needs her Mommy after all, it seems... :)

Nightmare Nightgown

So take a good look, cause this will be the last time you see Phoebe in a big girl nightgown for a while...here's what happened: we put on the nightgown, oh so cute, took pictures, la dee da...put Phoebe to bed...had to go in about six times to get her to lay down, as she was going INSANE- kicking around, playing with her legs and feet, etc. Not smart enough to CHANGE THE STUPID NIGHTGOWN, I just patted myself on the back when I finally got her to sleep an hour later. Score. 7:30 this morning: find Phoebe sitting next to her diaper, a pile of poo, vomit, and the gel-substance from the inside of the diaper. Awesome. I'm guessing she tore off the diaper, (hopefully) discarded the pile of poo, ate the inside of the diaper (why??), threw it up, and then played in it...after a bath, a call to the doctor, a call to Daddy for his ALWAYS insightful and sage advice, and a stiff drink (kidding!) the morning's going great...NO MORE NIGHTGOWNS for a while, as I said. Hmph.

Mmmm- spaghetti!!

Clearly Phoebe's favorite food, spaghetti nights are always a riot- we decided to be full on WT and just ditch the shirt this time- what a mess baby!!

Pouty Face

Well, here it is: Phoebe's new pouty face. She's going through a rough patch here, what with not getting proper naps for a few days, having Mommy and Daddy away in the hospital, a new baby in the house, getting her first molar, etc. She's having a bit of a crisis- and this is her pouty face she's come up with through it all...there have been some tantrums too, but those aren't so cute and won't be making it to the blog... :) Being a big sister is rough!!

Daddy Plays Horsey

SO CUTE- no further explanation required! :)

Grammy's Visit

Grammy came for a week to visit and help take care of the babies, and we had a blast! She brought presents, and gifts from Auntie Chris, Aunt Jacqie, and Cousins Mandy & Ethan too! The pink and green picnic blanket was a BIG hit, she loved wearing the new sunglasses, and she had fun showing off her new panda jammies that Mindy sent her! She did NOT enjoy story time with Clifford at Barnes and Noble- well, she did, but only until Clifford came over to say hello, and then she screamed hysterically until we got her away from him- Mommy was caught laughing herself into a frenzy over the whole debacle- oops! Anyways, we had a great time of visiting, shopping, going out to eat, and playing with babies! Thanks, Grammy!!

Beth's Babysitting Photos

Beth stayed with Phoebe all day on the day Joey was born, and- OF COURSE- got some greta photos of Phoebe throughout the day! The pouty ones are my absolute favorites- they are SO Phoebe right now! She is all about shaking her head "no" and doing her own thing- she doesn't need any help, thank you very much, she can do it herself! And if you don't give her what she wants during meal time or snack time? These are the looks you get! Ha!

Easter

Phoebe had a blast this year on Easter- not only did she have her brand new baby brother at home to share this experience with, but Daddy made us all a big, delicious ham too- and PLUS she actually sort of "got it" this year- not the concept of the Easter bunny and such of course, but she really got into tearing through her Easter goodies that Grandma and Grandpa Derringer, Grandma Adams, and Uncle Mike and Auntie Beth brought for her! Then she got to go with Mommy, Daddy, and Joey to find her own Easter basket- the one that the Easter bunny had hidden for her under the desk! After she played with all of her new things, Daddy took her on an Easter egg hunt around the house- and she was able to find the eggs, grab them, and place them in her basket! Finally, she sat with Mommy and Auntie Beth and "helped" dye Easter eggs. All in all- an awesome Easter day!!

Easter Photo Shoot

Beth came over yesterday to take pictures of Phoebe in her bunny ears for her Easter card this year...and as always, the photos turned out AWESOME! Thanks again, Beth!! I was trying to put this off as long as possible, hoping to get Baby Boy in on the Easter pictures too...but apparently he has other plans, so he didn't get to be in them. Hmph. The one of Phoebe facing away from the camera cracked me up, because it just put me to mind of her little independent streak- she's just playing with the Easter eggs in her bunny ears, not paying us any attention, jeans so long they cover her toes...and the one where she's holding the green egg made me cry, because she just looks so sweet- and OLD! Oh my gosh!
