First Trip to the Zoo!

Here's some photos from Phoebe's first trip to the Indianapolis Zoo! Phoebe, Uncle Colby, and Mommy went to the zoo when Daddy was at work- and we made it downtown without getting lost- woo-hoo! (Getting home was another story...) We saw the koalas, petted sharks (just Mommy and Colby, and we sanitized afterwards!!) watched the lemurs while we ate lunch, Colby tried to catch a duck, Colby tried to let Phoebe pet a duck, Mommy had a heart attack, Mommy let Phoebe pet a snake (KIDDING- just a fake one- and we sanitized afterwards) we watched the dolphin show, saw a bunny that was bigger than Charlie, and ate lots of junk food! Phoebe had fun looking at the animals, watching all the people, and babbling in the stroller- and then she had fun sleeping during the second half of the zoo trip!

Just Hanging Out in July

Here's Phoebe in July, rolling around on the floor with the beautiful quilt Grandma Adams made her and playing with her great-big-Pooh Bear! There she is getting into trouble- she can only go backwards in the walker at this point, but she somehow managed to sneak over and wedge herself under the high chair while Mommy was washing bottles- then she proceeded to push the whole conglomerate back against the wall! Next we have Johnny-the-Misfortunate: there was an "accident" at the groomers', resulting in the unfortunate loss of part of his ear...we have been teaching Phoebe to call him Van Gogh...then we have Phoebe in her cool new hippo high chair- Grampa Dunlap made a bee-line to Babies R Us.com to order this for her after we saw how cool cousin Ethan's was! And last but not least, Phoebe's new favorite thing: chewing on the suction cup parts of her table top toys! I swear I'm going to invent a new toy and make a million dollars: all it will be is a nylon strap with tags and suction cups hanging off of it- kids will love it! (Well, at least Phoebe will!)

Natural Swimmer

Here's Phoebe swimming- pay no attention to Mommy- and watch for Phoebe's sharky face- too funny!

La Porte Visit July 2008

Here are a few photos from our recent trip to La Porte. Phoebe got a bath in Grampa's sink, which was hilarious because as soon as I set her in there, she leaned back and put her arms on the sides like, "Ahh, my personal hot tub." Then there's the wild-woman hair, which was the unfortunate result of too many pigtails- plus the super-cute little dragon jammies that Grammy got her...next is Phoebe drying off after swimming- this one is ready for swim lessons, I'm telling you- I think if I would have let her go, she would have doggy-paddled her way all around the pool! Here's Grampa holding his little tiger-baby, and the rare-but-always-enjoyable appearance of Uncle Carl! We had a great time in La Porte- shopping, eating out, shopping, swimming, shopping, relaxing, and oh yes- did I mention shopping? :)

Blue Bouncer Video

Here she is in the blue bouncer- a little overwhelmed, and loving every minute of it!

She's Got a Ticket to Ride

Oh my GOSH how cute is this?!? This is another bouncer that Ethan has outgrown- and this one looks like it was MADE for my Sweet Pheebs! She makes this car look GOOD! :) It has a horn, a radio, a cell phone, an ignition, a gear shifter, and more! PLUS it's easy for Phoebe to bounce in, it's the perfect size, and did I mention cute?

BOUNCER HEAVEN!!

Oh boy, she found a new toy! Talk about overstimulated- we're borrowing this bouncy station from my cousin Mandy (her son, Ethan, has outgrown it), and the minute I put Phoebe in it she was just SOO excited! She couldn't touch each of the toys fast enough- she was turning around, smiling, laughing, growling, and, oh yes- bouncing! I guess I have to get over my distaste for brightly colored, non-coordinating baby items, eh? (That, or just discreetly toss a neutral-toned quilt over them and pretend like they're an ottomon...hmmm...) She LOVES this new bouncer- thanks Mandy and Ethan!!

TurdyTurtle is FunnyFunny

Here's Grandma Adams making Phoebe laugh with TurdyTurtle- this went on for a long time- it was soo cute!

Is it July already??

How did it get to be July already? Holy mackeral- that means I have to go back to work next month?!? AGGHH!! Ok, I can't think about that- moving on!Here are a few photos taken around and on the fourth- there's Daddy feeding the Boo-Boo her rice cereal- yum! Here are Nick and Amber showing off the super-cute outfit they got for the Pheebs- a halter top, shorty-shorts, and flip flops! Then there's Matt's mom making Phoebe laugh with TurdyTurtle- there will be video of that in a minute. Matt and Phoebe had to take a nap after all of the excitement at the lake on the fourth, and then there's Mommy busting out the baby carrier! Let's see, other June news...Phoebe had her sixth month check up, weighing in at a whopping 19 lbs., 15 oz.! Dang! She is 27 inches long, which puts her between the 90-95 percentiles in height and weight for her age. (We have been assured that this is just perfect, she's eating just what she should be, and that all is well! Just wanted to make sure that we're not growing a Marshmallow Man here!) The doctor said that everything looked great, and that she would probably "thin out" a bit when she starts crawling...but I like my chubby baby just the way she is! :) She's been a lot more high maintenance lately...hmm, wonder who she gets THAT from...we think that she has ditched efforts to start crawling and has decided to roll from here to there instead. She can't be allowed to play on the floor anymore unless someone has an eye on her at ALL times and is prepared to retrieve her from the other side of the room, from under the futon, away from the dog toys, or away from the surround sound buttons...oh, flash forward of times to come...anyhow, what else, what else...she's still full steam ahead on all of the Gerber Phase 1 foods we have tried- and she has even taken a liking to green beans! We're still trying the sippee cup now and then, just for practice...oh, and she's getting cuter and cuter every day, have I mentioned that? Her hair is officially long enough to get in her eyes and bother her, but since Daddy said I can't get her hair cut until she's ten years old, she's been wearing a lot of pigtails, clips, and hairbows lately...She seems to be cutting some teeth- she has been producing BUCKETS of drool, will chew on anything in sight, and bites HARD! I guess that's about all on the Phoebe front- July...how did this happen?
