Here are a few pics from La Porte this week- Phoebe tucking in her dolly with Joey's blankie, tearing up Papa's house, and posing for pictures with Great-grandma Boklund!

More Gymnastics Pictures

Here are a few pictures of Phoebe's favorite parts of gymnastics so far: the log roll, which she did right every time! (Unlike most of the other stations, which she either A) Did not attempt to do correctly, but just jumped on them, yelled "Ta-Da!" and moved on, B) Bypassed entirely to cut in line for the next station, or C) Attempted with help, but then dissolved into screams and tears when it didn't work on her first try...aka the somersault...) So anyhow, the log roll was a great success, as was the parachute flip at the end of class!! Can't wait till next week!!

First Day of Gymnastics!!

Well, here's Phoebe on her first day of gymnastics! She had the time of her life...when she wasn't screaming, kicking, crying, and being physically restrained, that is...she LOVED doing the circuit of activities, but could NOT handle the transitions- when we had to move on to a new activity- or sit quietly in the circle (HA!)- she flipped out and had a major hissy fit...I couldn't figure why it was MY kid who was the only one acting like a freak, until I started talking to the other moms...turns out ther was only one other kid who was in a class for the first time- all the rest of them had either taken this class or another similar one- or three or four- before. Then I didn't feel so bad...but she is going to have a great time in here once she gets the hang of it! She was able to show Grammy the "squat," "tuck," "pike," and "straddle" positions later that afternoon...now WHY couldn't she have done that during class?? :)

Running Amok at Dance Class

Notice how Phoebe IS going around the circle...but how she is NOT going at the same speed as everyone else...oh well, a good first try! We'll see how next week goes!

Dancing Dolls

I apologize for the poor quality of this video: I, being a moron, took the video sideways, and I don't have the proper editing program that would allow me to rotate it...so I re-recorded it off the computer screen...anyways, even though the quality is not great, it is still about the cutest thing I have ever seen!!

Oh, Mr. Tamborine Man...

The tamborine segment was a big hit with the Pheebs, but she got a little overwhelmed by all the noise, music, and movement...she kind of unraveled when we had to put the tamborines away, so we had to take a time out in the hall to collect ourselves... :)

First Day of Dance Class!!

Today was Phoebe's first day of Dancing Dolls, and it was hilarious! You'll notice that A) She is VERY proud of herself in her dance outfit, B) She doesn't seem to be doing what the rest of the girls are doing, and C) That she is having the time of her life!! :)

Meltdown Maker

This is the ball machine in the Builder Bob exhibit that made Phoebe short circuit and have a meltdown...it was just TOO much fun...

New Backpack

The Queen Godmother Mindy sent Phoebe a new Little Mermaid backpack for Valentine's Day, and she has been wearing it around the house ever since! Nevermind that it's 3/4 the size of her- she loves it! She straps it on, waves to us, says, "Bye Mommy! Bye Dadda!" and walks down the hall...sits there for a minute... and then walks back in, waves, and says, "Hi Mommy! Hi Dadda!" This happens over...and over...and over... :)

The Best Toy

Ah, the toy box, how do we love thee? Good for holding toys, books, Phoebe...

When Good Trains Go Bad...

...Phoebe got a little overstimulated by the trains...it was time to play something else for a while...

Trains

Papa got Phoebe a Thomas the Train set, and she went nuts over it!!

Crafting With Uncle Carl

Phoebe was very pleased to be able to work on crafting Valentines right along side her Uncle Carl at Auntie Chris's Valentine's Party- he even helped her peel the backs off her foamie heats! Thanks, Uncle Carl!

Snowballs and More

After the sledding experience soured, Phoebe had fun tossing the snow around, knocking snowballs out of Papa's hand, and listening for the "snake," which was actually a woodpecker...every time it pecked on a tree, Phoebe would cup her mit to her ear and say, "Oh! Snake!" :)

Oope! Crashing is Not So Much Fun

The sledding experience ended when Phoebe slid off the sled- she was NOT pleased!

"Ready, Papa!"

Here's Phoebe sledding again- this time on a new sled...turns out it wasn't as good as the first one, but she still had fun...it was hilarious, because she only went a few feet this time, but she ended each run with a big "Wheeeeee!"

The Great Pudding Experience

La Porte Visit

Here's Phoebe in her new Dora dress up kit- highlight= the magic wand. Also, she wanted to pretend to be a baby again, so she took over Joey's bouncer...hmmm...
