Happy Mother's Day!

Well, here are the goofballs on our attempt to capture a good photo for Mother's Day cards...clearly didn't happen! Well, ok, these pictures are cute, but they aren't the nicey-nicey, both-kids-looking-at-the-camera-and-smiling type pictures I was hoping for...oh well!

My Little Seamstress

Phoebe was helping me sew a quilt top the other day! I was sewing along, and all the sudden I see these little eyes behind the machine, and I hear, "I seeeeeeee you..." Then I had to turn off the machine so she didn't get sucked into the mechanism, but I got to watch as she "sewed" the quilt top with her hair clip...she was VERY intent on her work... :)

Finger Painting is Not So Much Fun!

I thought Phoebe and Joey could do some fingerpainting for Mother's Day, but it turned out that they didn't like the messiness of the finger paints! (Now go figure.) But the markers and crayons were a BIG hit, as usual, so that is what we did!

Poor Sicky Girl!

The poor Pheebs is not doin' so hot...she's been "off" since Joey's party on Saturday...thought she was just overtired, but then she was running a fever and coimplaining about her ears...doctor said not an ear infection...we'll see...now we're all infected...

Painting Is Fun on a Sick Day!

Ta da! Three days and counting on not leaving the house...you KNOW we've been crafting! We took this opportunity to work on some Mother's and Father's Day projects...Mindy and Drew, these are going to be your godparent gifts, so act surprised! Phoebe *loved* painting, and she was so proud of her handiwork!

This One is for Uncle Colby and Uncle Wes

So here she is: tutu, hair bows, animal crackers, doing stunts on her four wheeler...looks like you guys are rubbing off on her! :)

Bear Watching Buddies

This gave me a flavor of times to come...today was the first time Joey was able to get out and do something at the zoo...they looked so sweet standing there together, watching the bears... :) :)

More Zoo Fun

Phoebe decided she had to take a closer look at the little stream by the giraffe exhibit, so she belly flopped on the bridge and just laid there for a while, watching the water and the ducks...it reminded me of Ferdinand the Bull- you know the one, from the Little Golden Book? He's supposed to be doing something bull-like, but all he does is sit around in the field and sniff the flowers? :)

She also liked watching the "goat babies" jumping around, trying to kick the ducks that got a little too close for comfort, and hanging around on the jungle gym!

Zoo Trips Just Keep Getting Better and Better!

As Phoebe becomes more self-aware, and able to do and understand more things, our zoo trips get more and more interesting! For example, on this trip we spent just as much time looking at animals as we did "practicing how to walk by the stroller." Many tantrums were had, we'll leave it at that. But aside from learning how to behave like a human- NOT an animal, Phoebe saw all sorts of great things at the zoo! One of her favorite parts was the shark petting tank- the oceans exhibit building is the first one when you enter the park, and we spent a goo hour and a half looking at all the animals, leaving, then going back to look at them all again, leaving, then going back...you get the idea. She did NOT want to pet a shark (that's my
girl!) but she did want to watch them swim around and talk to them quite a bit. She had a good time running on the "jump bridge," and thought it was hiralious to pretend sneeze when the rhinos were sneezing...hey, maybe the rhino gave her that cold...

Superphebes Strikes Again!

The kids looked just *super* in their super hero pajamas the other day: Joey in his Spiderman pjs, Phoebe in her Superman jammies...they were ready to save the day!

Ta Da! Phoebe Earns Her First Ribbon!

The kids all got their ribbons for participating in Parent-Child Gymnastics! Yay! Phoebe was SO proud, and took this part VERY seriously...she got to go stand up on the block "stage," just like she had won an Olympic medal! I was so proud...it almost made it worth all the wrestling, struggling, crying, frustration, etc... :)

More Last Day Pictures

Phoebe actually tried to do "The Spiderman" today, which is like an assisted handstand: they put their hands on the ground and walk up the wall mat. They had "the fun sub" today too, so they got to play with the parachute at the end of class. Aside from not doing what she was supposed to do, when she was supposed to do it, Phoebe did a great job! :)

Last Day of Gymnastics!

Well, we made it through the last day of gymnastics! We did not make it through last week's class: Phoebe had a meltdown right before we left the house, and she was so worked up that she ended up throwing up all over herself in the car right before we got there...so we had to stop at Nick and Amber's, clean her up, and go straight back home. :( But today was great: she had her special gnome outfit on, and she was ready to go!
